Advising

Current and prospective undergraduate Humanities students at the UW are encouraged to meet with HAS academic advisers to discuss admission, declaring a major, graduation, academic planning, and personal issues affecting academic progress. Advisors are available for virtual, in-person, and phone appointments through the HAS Office in A-002 Padelford Hall. HAS responds to student inquiries on FIS courses, registration, credit issues, and the French and Italian placement tests. For information on French & Italian placement tests and registration/credit policies please see the links below.

For undergraduates seeking advising please contact the Humanities Academic Services Center (HAS) at has-center@uw.edu with any undergraduate advising, credit or registration questions. Students may also contact HAS advisor Sabrina Tatta directly at sabri@uw.edu. Make an appointment with Sabrina here.

For general assistance from the French & Italian Studies main office you may email frenital@uw.edu or call the FIS main line (206) 616-3486 from 8:30-4:30pm Monday through Friday.

The physical HAS offices are in Padelford Hall - you can find us on the Plaza Level (PL) of Padelford Hall’s A-wing. We’ve put full details on how to find our office online, but we recommend using the primary building entrance for A-wing: this is the double-door entrance closest to Hall Health, across the street from the Husky Union Building.
