Lamia Mezzour-Hodson is an Acting Assistant Professor at the University of Washington. She was previously a Lecturer at the University of California Davis, where she earned her Master's and Doctorate in French and Francophone Studies. She was also a Lecturer at the University of the Pacific, California. Lamia focuses on colonial and postcolonial francophone literature and cinema from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Her interdisciplinary research examines gendered spaces and their boundaries in North Africa and its diasporas in France. Drawing on current social matters related to gender, race and social class, she focuses on the underrepresented voices and the ways in which diverse subjects carve out their identities.
