In April, instructors from the departments of Asian Languages and Literatures, French and Italian Studies, German Studies, Middle-Eastern Languages and Cultures, Scandinavian Studies, and Slavic Languages and Literatures gathered for the Spring meeting of the UW Language Pedagogy Circle, launched in 2023 under the auspices of the Language Learning Center.

Professor Hedwige Meyer and Dr. Sarah-Kate Moore prepared and led a lively discussion on a chapter of Jane Willis’ landmark book A Framework for Task-Based Learning. Following a thought-provoking reflection exercise and a presentation of the theoretical framework of TBL, attendees engaged in a discussion of practical applications. The meeting was followed by an informal meet-and-greet with light refreshments and continued conversation around shared interests.
