Benjamin Ransom, majoring in French and Classical Studies and mentoring under Professor Maya Smith, presented a research poster at the 2015 UW Undergraduate Research Symposium. His research focused on the work of French ethnographers and their efforts to dilute Native American culture into sterotypical, mythologized concepts that were then used as a contrast against French society in the Colonial Era, through the Romantic Era.
