We are pleased to announce the sixth annual French & Italian Studies Academic Awards! Students are eligible to submit one project for the academic awards.
Academic Awards:
The FIS Academic Awards are a chance for students to be officially recognized for their excellent work in French and Italian studies courses, have their projects showcased on the department website, and receive a cash prize. All currently enrolled undergraduate students who have completed a project in a French or Italian course in spring 2025, summer 2025, autumn 2025, and winter 2026 are eligible to submit one project. Examples of submissions could be research papers, recorded presentations, or creative projects that exhibit innovation (in any format or medium).
To apply, please use our awards submission form to submit your project for the Academic Awards. The deadline to submit your project is Friday, May 22, 2026.
The FIS Award Committee will review all the submissions and select award-winning projects to be honored and displayed on the FIS website. Award winners will be announced by early June.
Curious about what kinds of projects you might submit? Previous winners can be seen on our website.
Please note that by submitting your project you consent to having your name and project publicly displayed on the FIS website if your project is selected as an award winner. If you have any questions or concerns, please email frenital@uw.edu.
We look forward to seeing your projects. Best of luck!
