French and Professor Markina-Baum Featured in The Daily Article

Irina Markina-Baum,  Assistant Teaching Professor of French & Italian and Language Program Director in FIS, was recently featured in an article in The Daily discussing the benefits of UW students learning a second language. Titled "To take advantage of your time at UW, you should take a language course", current UW undergraduate Lucas Schultze argues that UW students expand their job prospects, challenge their brains, and open pathways to global conversations by taking language courses. Professor Markina-Baum is featured in the article, giving insight into the successes of French courses here at UW and how language education in college can prepare a student for a global workplace and connections.
