We are pleased to announce the fifth annual French & Italian Studies Academic Awards and the reintroduction of the French & Italian Studies Photo Contest! Students are eligible to submit one project for the academic awards and one photo for the photo contest.
Academic Awards:
The FIS Academic Awards are a chance for students to be officially recognized for their excellent work in French and Italian studies courses, have their projects showcased on the department website, and receive a cash prize. All currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students who have completed a project in a French or Italian course in spring 2024, summer 2024, autumn 2024, and winter 2025 are eligible to submit one project. Examples of submissions could be research papers, recorded presentations, or creative projects that exhibit innovation (in any format or medium).
Photo Contest:
All currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students may submit a photo from their time in a French or Italian speaking environment. With your image submission, please provide details on when/where the photo was taken and any additional information you would like to provide the award committee.
To apply, please use our awards submission form to submit your project for the Academic Awards and/or for the Photo Contest. The deadline to submit your project is April 4, 2025.
The FIS Award Committee will review all of the submissions and make a selection of award winning projects to be honored and displayed on the FIS website. Award winners will be announced in May.
