The Department of French & Italian Studies continues to invite applications to our Master of Arts in French Studies program, deadline now extended to March 1, 2022.
Our graduate program encourages students to develop their own academic and professional interests in a cumulative way, rather than using a traditional coverage or period model. Our students take a wide variety of courses in other departments which count towards their degree. Students are encouraged to benefit from the interdisciplinary interests of our faculty, which include (as well as literary studies): the history of the book, textual and digital studies, socio-linguistics, ethnic studies, gender studies, literary and second language acquisition, translation studies, and art history. Many of the faculty in French and Italian Studies hold regular or adjunct appointments in other departments and programs in the College of Arts and Sciences. We also have a group of affiliate faculty in neighboring programs and departments who collaborate with us.
For more information, see our page on the French MA. To apply, see our page on the application process.
