Louisa Mackenzie Contributes to New Book  Early Modern Écologies

Submitted by Michael Rich on

Associate Professor of French Louisa Mackenzie has written the epilogue for a recently published book, Early Modern Écologies: Beyond English Ecocriticism.

Early Modern Écologies is the first collective volume to offer perspectives on the relationship between contemporary ecological thought and early modern French literature. This volume foregrounds not how ecocriticism renews our understanding of a literary corpus, but rather how that corpus causes us to re-think or to nuance contemporary eco-theory. Learn more about this book here.

Read an excerpt from the book's introduction which explains that the volume was prompted by a series of conference panels Professor Mackenzie participated in on early modern French ecologies.
