We are pleased to once again hold our annual French & Italian Studies Photo Contest! Any French or Italian student who has recently traveled to a French or Italian speaking country can submit their two best photos taken there. The FIS community will then vote for their favorite photos. The three entries receiving the greatest number of votes will receive gift cards from the University Bookstore: 1st prize - $75; 2nd prize - $50; 3rd prize - $25.
An open house with refreshments will be held on Wednesday, February 26th at 2:30pm in the French & Italian Studies conference room (Padelford Hall C-242) to showcase the top entries and announce our prizewinners. This will also be a change to learn about upcoming study abroad programs, talk with program directors, and socialize with faculty and fellow students. All are welcome at the open house, no rsvp required.

The last day to submit photos is Thursday, February 20th. Remember, photos should be appropriate for an audience and depict or capture the experience of being in a French- or Italian-speaking country. Photos should be at least 2MB, in JPEG format and of sufficient resolution to be printed at an 11x17 size. Photos must have an original title and must be named in the following format lastname_firstname_photo title_photo location.jpeg (example: Doe_Jane_EiffelTowerAtNight_Paris,France.jpeg) The top entries will be printed and displayed in the French & Italian Studies wing of Padelford Hall until next year’s contest and used for French & Italian publications and social media posts.
