Since the early 1800s the Ordre des Palmes académiques has been bestowing the honor of the Order of Chivalry of France upon outstanding teachers and professors. Two of UW French & Italian Studies' own are now counted among these distinguished ranks: Douglas Collins and Hélène Vilavella-Collins. Congratulations to them both on this monumental achievement!
