Giving Opportunities

General Funds

Our three general funds support a variety of students, projects, and programs.  The Chair can allocate these gifts to meet the greatest needs.

Friends of French and Italian Studies

Unrestricted support for the Department of French and Italian Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences. Gifts to this fund are used at the discretion of the Chair where they are needed most. Give to this fund

Friends of French Studies

To provide general program support for the French Studies program. For travel, research, publications, and communication expenses, as well as to serve as a general fund for restricted gifts too small to justify their own budget number. Give to this fund

Friends of Italian Studies

To provide general program support to the Italian Program, including, but not limited to, travel, research, publications, and communications expenses.  Give to this fund

Additional Funds

We also invite contributions to the following funds in memory of professors and community members.  Many of these funds have restricted purposes.

Carmine Smeraldo Endowed Fund in Italian Studies

To provide financial assistance to undergraduate students in the Italian Studies Program. Give to this fund

Eugene Vance Endowed Fund

The purpose of this endowment shall be to provide support for the Department of French and Italian Studies.  Give to this fund

Joan Cremin Endowed Fund in French Studies

To provide support for the Department of French and Italian Studies in the College of Arts & Sciences. Distributions from the endowment to be used at the discretion of the Chair. Give to this fund

Joe and Mary Zavaglia Family Endowed Fund for Italian Studies

To help students, both undergraduate and graduate, fund the cost of education in the Italian Studies Program including but not limited to support for tuition and books, research awards, & travel stipends for study abroad. Give to this fund

Pia Friedrich Endowed Fund for Graduate Student Support in Italian Studies

To provide support for graduate students in the Italian Studies Program. Give to this fund
