"The Front National and Immigrant Populations in France"

Francis Ramoin. "The Front National and Immigrant Populations in France." Honors Thesis.

One of the great paradoxes of France is the contrast between the republican virtues of  "liberty, equality, and fraternity," and the increasing marginalization of minorities in the context of an emboldened far-right sociopolitical movement. I propose to explore the resurgence of right-wing extremism in France, concentrating on its disproportionate impact on immigrant populations. I will compare Marine Le Pen's Front National to that of her father's, looking closely at the exploitation of salient regional issues and demographics.
