Submitted by Michael Rich on

Christina Sztajnkrcyer, a recent graduate of our French doctoral program recently published a piece of writing on the website of The Stroum Center For Jewish Studies. Christina's piece, "From Rhodes To Racine: Why a Sephardic Teenager in 20th-Century Paris Was Reading The Tragedy Esther" highlights some of her work with a young woman's school notebook from 20th century Paris. In particular, she uses a quote drawn from Racine's play Esther as a way to shed light on Jewish womanhood in 20th century France. Read the piece here!
