Teaching With Technology Fellows Explore New Ways to Present Class Content

Submitted by Jennifer M. Keene on

Prof. Louisa Mackenzie recently participated in the Technology Teaching Fellows Institute which provided support to more than 30 faculty during Summer 2013 and will be offered again in Summer 2014. From the TTF website

"Participants spend a week working with colleagues, facilitators, and coaches to redesign their traditional course into a hybrid or online format.  The institute includes workshops (on pedagogy and technology), collaborative work sessions, ”sandbox” activities in a technology-enhanced classroom, and solo preparation. Staff consultants from the Center for Teaching and Learning and from UW-IT lead workshops and are available throughout the week to provide training and support. A few months after the institute, participants present their work in a “critical friends” setting, with evaluation and feedback from peers. Participants receive $3,500 for full attendance and participation during the institute and successful completion of the peer-review sessions."
